How right shares work in Nepal
Right shares are new shares offered to existing shareholders at a discounted price, typically at face value (Rs. 100), before being offered to the public. They allow companies to raise capital while giving existing shareholders the chance to maintain their ownership percentage.
A 30% right issue means you can purchase 30 new shares for every 100 shares you currently hold. You must apply within the book closure period to be eligible.
The theoretical ex-right price is calculated as: (Current Price × Current Shares + Right Price × Right Shares) ÷ Total Shares. The actual market price after the rights issue may differ.
